My Furniture

One piece at a time

Prior to industrialization, Furniture was made one piece at a time. Usually made to order.  That’s how I make my furniture.

While I sometimes use modern power tools I finish out all my projects by hand such that little to no evidence of power tools can be seen.

Rarely do I make the same piece twice. I want each new project to teach me new skills.

Case Furniture

In the 18th century they called this type of furniture "Cabinets." And, therefore, such pieces were made by cabinet makers. Today cabinets usually refers to built-ins.

Tables & Chairs

The joinery for tables and chairs differs from that of cabinets. 18th century craftsmen who made this type furniture were sometimes called joiners.
